ON/OFF module Unsupported?

I tried to install an On/off Module 2635-222 and auto discover called it an unsupported Device:2.55. Any idea what this means?

I REALLY wish the Device Type was in alpha or model # order. Would make it a lot easier to search.

What does Help | About display for Firmware level

and UI Level?

The devices are listed in Cat/Subcat level. The 2.55 is [02.37] in hex (the way Smarthome/SmartLabs lists Cat/Subcat).

That device is supported in 4.1.1.

This seems like a fairly common problem and solution.

Perhaps the error dialog should be updated to inform the user of the likely issue (fw is not at the latest).

And maybe even include a link to a UD web page that shows what version is needed for each device type.

I must be missing something here. How do I upgrade my UI? I found the beta for 4.1.1 which was the firmware, but is the UI somewhere else? Sorry if this seems dumb but........ :)

I still seem to be in trouble here. I never was able to get the UI upgraded from 4.0.11. Always getting an error message when I went into the Admin console that Windows security was blocking the install. Today I did a manual install of 4.1.2 and the Firmware installed but I'm still stuck with the UI of 4.0.11.

I have to be screwing something up!

Can you confirm that you been able to clear the java cache? KMan and LeeG have posted links on this important step.

I have the same problem using v4.0.5 and this module. Is this a problem or just an annoyance I can ignore for now?

There are always new devices released after an ISY image has been released. Not sure if the 4.0.11 UI has support. For sure 4.1.2 does.

Not sure if I'll get all the questions answered but here goes.

Each time I have installed an upgrade I do clear the Java Cache.

The "original" issue of seeing the "unsupported device" is not a big problem. Fine to ignore until I figure out why I'm not getting my UI updated, but the firmware is.

I've tried all of the various URLs for the Admin console.

I've included a screen shot of the About settings. Maybe that will mean something to someone.

Thanks.

I use whatever was installed on my desktop when I set up 994i. This is the path that was in the properties box of the shortcut I run.

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/4.0.5/admin.jnlp "C:\Users\JGD\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\39\448168a7-57d6f9c9"

I have used the other various ways to log in illustrated in step 6 of the various Beta instructions and get to a different type of admin console. I use the 192.168.105.81 that I see on the file I attached. I am able to run my devices and programs etc from those log ins but if I click on Admin Console it goes to a new window showing a Universal Devices Logo on a white page saying to Please Keep This Window Open! and immediately throws an Error box User Account Control warning me that it's an unknown program. Then nothing happens. I CAN hit the back button and get back to the page that let's me control my devices. (I hope I'm making some sense here!)

That Icon should have been deleted when the Java Applications etc were selected for deletion. Note the reference to 4.0.5 in the URL. That is why things are deleted from Java.

Make sure all browser sessions are shut down. Delete the Java cache including the applications and then use the URL of choice from the 4.1.2 announcement.

Are you sure that error box doesn't have a checkbox that says "allow" (or some variation)?

That appears to have worked!

I believe my problem was NOT checking off the box in the Java Cache clearing to include applications. I don't believe that was checked in the sample that I saw somewhere originally. AND the module that wasn't showing properly before (the original problem) is correctly shown.

I'll play with this some more and hopefully it will all be running correctly!

Thanks to everyone who tossed in their ideas!!

My shortcut icons both remained after clearing the Java cache and applications, on two computers also. It seems the earing operation cannot reach those. I had one on my desktop and one in my quicklaunch section of the taskbar that both remain from a handy link in the v4.0.5 manual.

Is there a way to substitute the command string in these direct java invoking shortcuts? They seemed handier than going through the supplied link/methods.

On my Windows XP computer.

Clearing the Java Cache including applications. Removed the Desktop Icons.

In the Java Control Panel. I found them in the deleted applications tab.

What URL is now being used that results in the 4.0.11 UI?

In the User Guide for the ISY v4.0.5 (pg. 15/102) there is a URL that installs a cute Java app/icon on your desktop and further avoids the three successive logins asked in some other entry methods.

http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp

It sure would be nice to have an updated one for Java 7/51 and V4.1.2

I had the same situation. Thanks for bringing it to my attention (and probably others).
