Can't FULLY configure an Insteon device's options with 994i?

Just getting my feet wet with a 994i, and I know I have a lot of reading to do, but... it doesn't appear that the 994i interface allows configuration of certain options for Insteon devices? (A search for "2477S" returned matches that weren't related to my question.)

For example, the 2477S On/Off switch allows setting "Blink on Traffic" and "Beep On Button Press" within the App for Hub, but I'm not seeing in the 994i interface where (or if) those are available options. LED brightness levels are settable, and that feature works fine.

In the case of the 2477S, I just added it to the App for Hub, set the options, then deleted it. Once the 994i interface fired up, those settings were preserved as I set them in the App, and worked as expected.

Am I missing something obvious? I'm on v4.0.5 firmware.

And is there somewhere a "list" of which options for any given Insteon device, can or cannot be configured via the 994i?

Thanks in advance.

Appreciate the answer, though not what I wanted to hear. Owell.

OK, given what I had to do to configure the options..... is there any real problem in leaving the Hub in use, with all schedules and scenes deleted (leaving just the devices defined) as well as the 994i in use, doing the actual "work"?

Or... leaving the hub unplugged until and unless needed, then connecting to do option changes?

It depends on whether the Hub has added a link record to the devices that it is aware of. If the Hub has not written link records and does not communicate with its devices it should be okay. Basically sitting as a non-functional device.

If it has written link records in devices known to the ISY the device link databases no longer match what the ISY thinks should be there. For older devices the Hub may not write link records. For all I2CS devices released after March 2012 links are needed for the Hub to update an I2CS device.

There are quire a few device options that the ISY doesn't see, but HouseLinc does. I use HouseLinc to set those options, but avoid using HouseLinc for anything the ISY can handle such as scenes and schedules.

Only if you have a serial port on your computer. But, you can use the Hub as a HouseLinc gateway and not have to plug and unplug anything.
