mlennox Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I recently tried the Mobilinc Connect add-on, which I let expire after the 30 day trial. Since that point, my ISY99i can no longer do DNS updates, which is affecting time updates and email notifications. Please help. See attached screen capture when trying to send a test email.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi mlennox, The first thing I recommend is to reboot your router! Next: 1. If you have configured your ISY with a static IP address, please try 8.8.4.4 for DNS 2. If that does not work, please revert to DHCP With kind regards, Michel
mlennox Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 DHCP worked... so can I go back to static now?
Michel Kohanim Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Hi mlennox, Yes, you can but the main issue is whether or not your router will allow DNS queries from a device that it has not assigned IP addresses to. With kind regards, Michel
mlennox Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I've had static IP for years on the ISY no problems.. nothing has changed in that respect. At any rate, after switching to DHCP and then back to static IP, things were working... but unfortunately they are no longer working again. Not sure where to go next.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Hi mlennox, Please reboot your router and retry. With kind regards, Michel
mlennox Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Didn't help. Any other suggestions to debug this?
Michel Kohanim Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hello mlennox, Have you looked at your router's logs? That's where I would look at next. With kind regards, Michel
mlennox Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 nothing has changed and i have several other static ip devices on the network working fine. the problem started when mobilinc account expired. how do i remove that module?
Michel Kohanim Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hi mlennox, Please send your UUID (Help | About) to support@universal-devices.com and it shall be removed. With kind regards, Michel
