Switches Responding to ISY Commands

Recommended Posts

I'm not at my home and I would like to confirm that the lights are going on and off according to the ISY programs.

I'm not sure if the PLM is working properly and actually relaying the instructions to the various switches throughout the house. How do I confirm that the switches are receiving the commands? I believe that the log merely shows the instructions that were issued by the ISY.

Turn a device On and issue a Query through the Admin Console. The current status is displayed. If the current status went from Off to On when device was turned On and Query result is showing the device On the Insteon network is functional.

In the Tools Tab

Diagnostics

PLM Info/Status does it show connected?

We have seen some PLM failure posts here and in the Smarthome Forums.

I am not sure if there where any PLM failure messages on the new Insteon Forums yet.

Yes there is now an Insteon Forum that does not seem to be well advertised. http://forum.insteon.com/

My 2413S failed in two years and three months. Just over the warranty period.

Mine would start to work again if I let it cool off for awhile.

I got a new one in the last 20% off sale but have possibly fixed the old ones power supply. Time will tell as I just have it idling with power applied and measuring the power supplies output.

Everyone of my switches was unable to communicate with the ISY even though the ISY was able to read the PLM address. So, I rebooted the ISY remotely and it started in safe mode. The ISY is now unable to read the PLM address.

And, yes, the PLM was running hot. I disconnected it about six weeks ago and let it cool down. Then I reset and restored it. It started to die last week.

I have ordered a new PLM but wouldn't mind fixing the old one. Can you share your fix?

Thanks.
