REQUEST: Activity based logging

I think it would be helpful for the ISY to offer activity based logging. For all the core activities for an object, there should be an option level of logging. I.e. for a light switch, turning it off, on, dimming. For a leak detector leak on, off, low battery, heartbeat. A door sensor would have on, off, low battery, now heartbeat.

 

Human level logging that could be saved as a text file, outputted to a syslog, emailed, whatever.

 

I started using Xathros' syslog solution (which I found here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9215) which works, but as far as I can tell I need to manually insert the logging in a program for every device. It seems like it would be very useful for debugging and historical purposes to track the frequency of normal events.

Thanks so very much for the suggestion. This said, all those are already in Tools | Log.

 

Are you looking for something different and, if so, what would be the difference?
