Is my PLM bad or am I just not resetting it correctly?

Recommended Posts

Equipment: ISY994i with bunch of Insteon devices

Problem: Last night I noticed the lights didn't go off when they should have. So all Day I tried to figure it out remotely. Turns out, the PLM was off because my fiance shut off the wall switch the PLM is on.

So I turned it on, but now all the devices cannot communicate. I tried a few different things but I cannot get my current setup to reconnect properly. Only a few devices seemed to communicate.

On thing to mention is that if I remove a device and then add it again, it works fine. So I don't believe the PLM is bad. I think the problem is I just didn't cycle the PLM or the ISY or both with the devices correctly.

So, what should I try?

Thanks in Advance,

Brian

If the ISY was power cycled while the PLM was not powered turning the PLM on later will not work.   Power off ISY.   With the PLM powered apply power to the ISY.  If the devices  cannot be accessed do a File | Restore Modem (PLM) to rebuild PLM link database.  If a Delele Modem (PLM) was done trying to correct things the ISY no longer has the PLM information  because of the Delete.  It will be necessary to go back to an earlier ISY Backup if the Delete modem (PLM) was issued.
