Smarthome sale on Labor Day

Featured Replies

I hope this isn't inappropriate. I just got off the phone with SmartHome and they told me that they're going to have a sale on Monday only... 22% off. Would have been nice knowing that with THE ORDER I PLACED TODAY!!! (sigh)

Great.  Glad to see they went back to % off.

I wasn't a fan of the "fixed dollar off based on spend levels."

I certainly tried but they would budge! Haha

I considered buying the isy for a long time. I finally pulled the trigger on a Sunday evening. A few hours later on Monday morning I got an email from smarthome that the ISYs were on sale, big discount. I called them and they offered me half the difference or a return. I thought they should have honored the discount since my order had not even left the warehouse. I ended up buying one at the sale price and sending the first one back.

I already have a few switches on the shelf for back up or if I just want to add some, but it is hard to resist 22% off.

I just looked at the link for the sale in the earlier post.

It now is showing some Insteon Modules that are not included in the sale. It also says the sale ends September 05,2014.

Yes I also ran into the need for a new password while I was trying to access my account.

The site is annoying.  I wanted to get a friend an ISY for his new house.

The base ISY994i shows as $191.51 on the search page.  When you click on it, the price jumps to $240.83!   :(

I just added it to my cart, and the price drops back to $191.51.   Web gremlins at work.

Agreed, they are becoming the next x10.com... and yet, I keep going back

As a related FYI, I got my ISY as a refurb (open box) from Orchestrated Home. I went there based on a post I saw here.  I got a lot a fully loaded ISY at a price that my budget allowed. Full warranty, works perfectly.

shameful on my part, but I have not installed all that I bought last black friday!

Would like a couple more items, but will pass it up this cycle, thanks for the heads up!

Not happy. On Friday I bought 3 Access Points. Ordered. Done. An hour later I realized I needed 2 more. Called and asked to change the order. Said too late that the order shipped. Said I should wait til monday - there's a sale! Why not then!

I paid 19.95 each on Friday for refurb AP's.

Today they were 34.99 for the refurbs.

I wonder how many other items on the site went UP for the sale.

UPDATE: When I went to my cart on Safari on my Mac, I noticed that there were 3 already in there I left from Friday (I placed the order from my iPad..) It still had the original price from Friday.  And the price held. If I added the item from the web page at the new price i would have the same item in the cart at 2 different prices (same SKU btw)

Be sure and add them to your cart on the regular website, not mobile.  Something is wrong with the site:

Base ISY994i

  - mobile search page $240.83

  - mobile product page $240.83

  - mobile cart $240.83

  - desktop search page $240.83 (was $191.51 last night)

  - desktop product page $240.83

  - desktop cart $191.51

Refurb Access Point

  - mobile search page $34.99

  - mobile product page $34.99

  - mobile cart $19.99

  - desktop search page $34.99

  - desktop product page $34.99

  - desktop cart $19.99

For some reason, the ISY994i shows up in the mobile cart at the high price, but the access points at the low price.  Very weird.

Weird indeed. But I did get them at the original price. So bottom line, good.

Well now the site seems consistent between the search page, product page, and cart.

The ISY994i is "on sale" for $240.83, with a list price of $289.99 (yet it is $199 or less everywhere else!)   :x

With the 22% off, that makes it $187.85.  You are better off at Amazon, for $179.99 (Sold by Quantum Wireless/Fulfilled by Amazon or Orchestrated Home with free shipping).

Orchestrated home has "refurbs" (returns) for very reasonable pricing. They also have "refurb" plms. You need to contact their email address, there are usually more refurbs than on the website. I got a lot more ISY than I planned on by buying this way and happy the way it turned out.

The lower priced ISY's may not include the PLM.

They do not.  But nor does the $240.83 ISY.   This is all just for the ISY994i.

The ISY+PLM combo is "on sale" for $279.99 (List Price: $412.99).   Where they got that number I have no idea!  (Even 240+80 isn't close to 413!)

They are trying to make everything look like a bargain.

Good point, you do have to make sure what's included. Since I was coming from a hub i needed a plm too. OH offered a refurbed PLM at a similar discount and the ISY the power cable came with it. I looked a number of alternatives and the OH refurbed solution was less than anything else I could find that was provided equivalently , and still get the full warranty
