Do the 2476S and 2477D play well together

I decided to replace an old X10 light switch so chose to buy a Insteon 2477D to replace it. Up until I replaced it, everything was working just fine. Now, I can't reliably turn on the 2476S. It sometimes responds to On/Off commands and some times I have to issue the command several times before it responds. The 2477D works just fine. These two Insteon modules are in the same electrical box. Is it possible that, being in the same box, the 2477D is interfering with the 2476S?

I have several 4-gang and 3-gang boxes with a mix of relays and dimmers with no adverse affects. The only restriction I'm aware of is that the load capacity of a dimmer is reduced when placed next to another dimmer.

Check and double check the connections. Does the device work reliably if you remove it from the switch box, but leave it connected?

Thanks for the reply, when I get home, I'll remove the switches from the double ganged box to see if that fixes it.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but had sort of a similar question.  I have some of the dimming ones and they all make the lights buzz really bad, even at 100% on.  Replaced it with a normal Lutron motion switch and it's fine.  If I don't care about dimming and use just the S version, should I expect there to still be buzzing or is that more due to the dimming feature? :)

The one that buzzes is in my kitchen, it's just a 3 bulb ceiling light with LED bulbs on it, the small ones GU10 or something, 3 diff manufacturers of them and they all buzz at different levels.  I removed the Switchlinc and no buzzing at all.

Some LEDs buzz with some dimmers. You should be OK with an On/Off INSTEON device.

I got back to the 2476S / 2477D problem and this is what I found:

- the 2476S Only works occasionally even when outside the box and separated from the 2477D.

- if I put the X10 switch back in, it works

- if I put the 2476S in another box but on the same circuit, it works

There doesn't seem to be any reasoning here so I put another 2477D in and both work. Of course, the 2477D's are dual band so I suspect they are working via RF.
