Does the Admin Console have to have internet access to work?

Dear:Anyone:

I did not have internet access over the weekend due to an issue with the ISP.  I added some togglelinks and lamp lincs but the admin console couldn't find them.  Since I didn't have internet, when I logged in to the admin console, I received an error but it eventually let me in to the console.  However, when I did querys or add new device, it would not find them.

Does the console need to have internet access to work?

The Admin Console communicates with the ISY over an IP address but that is normally the local network.  Unless the modem/router would not provide a local network I would expect the Admin Console to talk to the ISY.  However that is under control of the modem/router.

Did existing devices show status changes in the Admin Console?

ToggleLincs are powerline only so they could have issues that Dual Band devices do not.

Insteon devices use a completely different network using radio frequencies and powerline codes to connect with fellow Insteon devices in your home. This "Insteon Network" is not related or dependant on your home network (LAN) or the Internet in any way.

However,

As LeeG stated above, your LAN (home network) handles the communications between the Admin Console and your ISY box.
