jwarner964 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Hi I'm fairly new to Home automation, but catching on . I have a insteon camera and can't access it from my phone away from my home. I love mobilinc but this camera thing is making me crazy. Wes from moblinc said my port forwarding might be wrong. insteon said it's fine but I still can't see my camera away from home. It worked a couple times at first now nothing, any ideas Thanks
InsteonNut Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Hi jwarner964, Keep in mind that your external IP address could have changed or your camera's internal IP could have changed rendering the port forward rule invalid. From your iPhone on a cell connection, make sure you can see the log-in page of your camera when you use Safari and go to your external IP address + port. If this doesn't work, then you know the port forward rule isn't right in your router. If this worked a few times and then stopped, that's a classic description of an IP address changing somewhere.
