INSTEON device Factory Reset

ref: Factory reset instructions are published in each device's User Manual.

Unfortunately, it looks like Smarthome may have removed many of the legacy or early model device manuals from their download listings at: http://www.insteon.com/support/#documentation  Some of the older devices do not respond to factory resets similarly to the newer ones.

I need to be absolutely sure that my factory reset clears the device address tables, including references to old PLM's (my bad for sloppy housekeeping!)

   (1) Does anyone know where I can get factory reset information for older devices?

   (2) using an ISY 994i, is there a way to list the device address tables for each device?

   (3) using an ISY 994i is there any other way to prove a device has been factory reset?

1. If you can't find them anywhere. I have the older ones and maybe able to assist you. I agree thet there are differences. Like the original SwitchLinc relay module. It has no Air Gap switch and if you pull the set button out. You break it Off.

2. Click on the module in question.

In the drop down menu.

Diagnostics.

Show Device Link Tables. It will get the link information from the device and after it has finished there is a compare function.

No, but if you check the links table, and it has links, then you do what you believe to be a factory reset, then check the links table again and it is empty, odds are you succeeded.

I needed a missing one a couple weeks ago and emailed the support address for the site and he put it up for me within a few minutes.

Who and where?

Those are pre-Inseon, X10 compatible devices.

Yeah, I don't know why the other link I entered won't show up? It also appears soon after I posted it up it was gone WTF?

In my case, I had saved a link to the pdf, and when I tried to go there I got a 404.  The bottom of the 404 page had the link www.insteon.com/404-help-us and in that link I said what I was looking for, and he put the link back.   Hopefully it would work for any missing device manuals?

I think you and I were using a similar link. Mine was from two years ago. But literally I was able to see the links and when I posted it up here it went poof!

I have seen this before for product items on the SH site too. Perhaps this is just a reordering of the data base as Brian H. Also indicated many developer manuals were being pushed out onto the public realm.

Might show back up in a few days.

Who put the link back?

Some of the manuals for the older hardware revision modules have gone missing.

Like the one for the earlier 2457D2 that was before the Flow Chart button sequence was introduced.

There where also different manuals for other modules depending on their hardware revisions.

Like the 2476S Switchlinc Relay with no Air Gap switch. That needs a completely different set of steps to do a Factory Reset.

Modules with or without sense inputs, isolated outputs etc.

Thanks for the links.

I have all of the manuals. I was trying to point out. Smartlabs/Smarthome seems to make finding some older manuals almost impossible to find.
