Recommended Posts

Hi

I had a switchlinc dimmer flack out on me, light flickered didn't light then did, I did a reset on it and tried to restore it on my ISY and it didn't have communication with it tried the process again and it started working again but now there is 2 shot buzzing sounds coming from the switch when turned on or off. it had been working fine, I installed it about a month ago, there wasn't a buzz before the restore. after the reset when switching on off, any ideas why the buzzing

Thanks jeff

The typical reasons are incompatible load, wired incorrectly, or power surge. The load could have been damaged by a surge if its a CFL / LED. If so the electronics could be showing up in the switches logic thus declaring a fault.

If you remove the load and the buzzing goes away its the load. If removing the load still causes a buzz the device is damaged or faulty and needs to be returned for replacement.

thanks for the reply, the switch doesn't buzz when not talking to the isy, after reseting it and before restoring it in the isy it worked fine and made no noise when switching on and off

I had to read your reply a few times. Can you explain that again, what is the current issue?

sorry the post was kind of long, short story, switch went flacky and after reseting and restoring it the switch buzzed when turning on and off. I deleted from my isy factory reset the device and reinstalled it now the buzzing has stopped

Thanks for the replays. its great having a place to go for help

I believe a Factory Reset. Uses the Air Gap Switch being pulled out and then pushed all the way in after ten seconds.

When you pulled the Air Gap Switch out. You power cycled reset the Switchlinc. If it was in a strange state of confusion. That may have corrected it.
