When you let hackers break into your company only to tell the general public, and the hacker community, that there are no holes, or possible vulnerability. Only to be hacked 4 more times, with your dirty laundry shown off as proof you're a stupid company. That is run by even dumber imbeciles, what do you expect? Even after being hacked two years later the famous movie studio hack. Again, Sony with all its money, smarts, talent, failed to follow any professional advice or IT Security policies as outlined by no less than 7 internal audits. Stupid is, is stupid does . . . Then again what do you expect from a company who chose to reject the porn industry during the VHS / Beta wars. Only to be (almost) repeat the whole DVD war again. When they started to brand all of their lower level crap with the ES designation which was reserved for only the most technical advanced hardware of the day. It was the writing on the wall for this company never mind the idiotic insistence on trying to create a standard or lock consumers into their wares. Like the MD Disc, or that stupid three prong plug for various devices like the portable game player that was before the Vita. This company has so much potential and talent under their roof its unbelievable. Yet at every turn management was allowed to squander it away and let such a great company fall and crumble. I truly feel sorry for all of those hard working and dedicated engineers who have brought me and millions of audiophiles endless hours of enjoyment. Rome was great, yet you can see how poor management got them down to their knees. Its Sony turn to burn and crumble and hopefully they come back focused and ready to start a new. Right . . .

I could probably go on for hours and show case all of the *** hattery this company has done from PS1 moving forward. Its amazing how companies reward the truly stupid and incompetent at every turn. It never ceases to amaze me when I see CEO's who literally drove a company into the dirt and bankruptcy and still receive a *Golden Parachute* top up upon their departure. Yes, many of this is written into their contract etc. But, lets use some common sense and say you must meet these basic requirements to receive said compensation! That is how the real world works for all of us blue collar / white collar workers! I can tell you with 100% certainty I have no clue how and why they have sat on their most epic invention which was this multi purpose glass tech. I saw this internal video on You Tube of a journalist show casing how this single piece of glass tile could act as a camera, microphone, speaker, touch screen, multi linked tile, etc etc. To date this tech has never seen the light of day and was invented more than 15 years ago! What a complete waste of R&D with endless possibilities . . .

I respect the need to safeguard against piracy, but as you mentioned, their insistence on locking people into their wares was idiotic. It's kept me away from much of their consumer electronics, as I'm sure it did others. It seemed every new product they introduced reeked with DRM. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

They still have lots of talented people lying in wait. So let's see how this unfolds in the not too distant future. All I know is to be fair to Sony lots of companies abuse their top tier crown products. Vehicle makers, HVAC, A/V makers have all [censored]ized the marque names in a effort to attract the general public. Pioneer did this with their Elite Series, Onkyo with Integra. The only company that didn't do it was Bryston but now we are talking about thousand dollar amplifiers so not in the same league as the more mainstream products like above and Denon etc. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

I drank that koolaid in 2009 with the sony bookreader. Not a bad device, but they didn't have the long term vision of how to keep the ebook DRM side relevant for them. Being Sony, they kept it standards based (ePUB) and I've been able to drag all of those books along using bluefire reader. Lost all of my bookmarks and notes though
