Fast on & Fast Off Trigger Another Device

I'd like to use the switchlinks in the bedrooms for two things - I can;t seem to get this to work the way I want.

 

Normal use of the switch would operate the overhead light - no problem

 

Fast On (Dbl Tap) would turn on another Insteon device in the room, but NOT turn on the overhead light, which is the load connected to the switch.

 

Is this even possible?? The only way I figure to to do this is with the following program. The scene that is being triggered turns the table lamp on and then shuts off the overhead light.

 

 

If

Status 'Bedroom 1' is Off

And Control 'Bedroom 1' is switched Fast On

 

Then

Set Scene ' Bedroom 1 Dbl Tap' On

 

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

 

 

 

This works, but the overhead light comes on until the program hits the line that says turn it off.

It's not possible because the internal logic of the switch itself turns on the load when you do a FAST ON.

 

What about using a FAST OFF instead?

 

Another possibility would be to take the overhead light load off of the SwitchLinc somehow (using an InlineLinc or a second Insteon device).

I agree wiith Mike. While I don't know how the switch works, I know it does turn on its own load regardless of single or double tap.

 

I do something a little different. I have all my outside light switches set to turn on ALL outside light switches on a double tap on. I can also turn them all off with a double tap off. This is nice when the wife thinks the boogie-woman is running around outside the house.
