Impossible - Does it simply take longer??

Today a very familiar topic near and dear to my heart came up. The question / comment was something a person had heard, read, seen, etc.

 

The conversation goes like this:

 

Q: Did you know this happen, or was done, or was accomplished? 

 

A: Well, you know that is quite impossible to say the least!

 

For me I simply sat on the side lines watching this exchange of thoughts and ideas. But had to chime in when the original topic went completely left field. There are times our personal knowledge or understanding about how things really operate or happen is the limiting factor.

 

Case in point many of the people of the day believed if we sailed past the horizon we would simply fall off the face of the Earth. Time, experience, and knowledge has proven this not to be true yet there are still people on this great planet that believe it being so??

 

There are still people to this very day that believe man did not land on the moon. That this historic event was PR at its finest and slight of hand movie making. I have seen countless movies and biographies of both camps that use so called science to support their claims.

 

I always chuckle when the ultimate two facts are made known to the opposing camp that believe man did not land on the moon.

 

That is number one the USSR in 50 freaking years has not come out to say *Liar liar, pants on fire* which we all know would have taken great joy in unveiling such a epic hokes on the general public.

 

Then there is the undisputed fact there is a a parabolic mirror on the moon. Which if you have a laser could lase the coordinate and calculate the time to achieve the distance etc. Never mind the ability to use a satellite to image the foot prints on the moon!

 

Yet people all around the globe continue to believe this great feat was not achieved??

 

As we all know the great pyramids, great wall, stone hinge, etc were all accomplished feats of shear force, and what else???

 

Time . . . .

 

The impossible simply takes longer to achieve as the above examples show us all.

 

If someone told me 100 years ago some intangible, unseen, and impossibly small thing called the atom could unleash energy and death simply by colliding them together.  I would have said (IMPOSSIBLE) which shows our lack of understanding of the world and its elements around us.

 

There are however those who truly defy common sense and having the ability to just shut up. Those are the fanatics who insist gravity does not apply to them???

 

This is where I had to chime in and remind this poor [censored] the lack of common sense he illustrated.

 

If he truly believe the laws of physics did not apply to him or in a specific condition he should cite it. Because I told him if he truly believes gravity has no impact on him and the universe as we know it.

 

He could simply walk out the 50th floor window and let fate to control of his destiny. Its safe to say this one single comment made him take pause and back peddle into the darkness.

 

In my view there are somethings that are impossible and it has nothing to do with time. Gravity such as time is the victor.

 

Anyone who doubts gravity plays any role on their daily lives can simply walk out the window to prove me wrong . . .
