Elk and Requirements

Hi,

I'm looking to install a security system that my 994i Pro can communicate with and it looks like the only brand that's truly made to work with it is the Elk system, I would've preferred the Honeywell system as they have a nicer design for key pads and what not. But what I mainly need help with now is deciding what exactly I have to get to do this myself. This is the first time I'm installing an alarm system so any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

This is what I was looking to get from my own research for a wireless solution, please let me know if something is missing?

M1GCB M1 Gold Control Board SWB14 Enclosure 1280 8Ah Battery TRG1640 Transformer 73 Speaker M1KPNAV Touchscreen Control 6023 Recessed Door Sensor 6040P Glass Break Sensor 6030P Motion Sensor - Pet Friendly M1XRFTW Two-Way Wireless Transceiver M1XEP M1 Ethernet Interface

I'm currently using Insteon devices throughout the house and want to be able to trigger lights, scenes and programs based on events and sensors from Elk. Also, how would the Elk system communicate with the alarm monitoring station? I'm assuming Internet since I don't have a phone line? Is there an option to add Cellular backup in the event the internet is down? Also, are there a set of instructions somewhere on how to install and configure the Elk system and how to integrate it into the ISY as well?

Last question, instead of using their touchscreen control, is it possible to have a tablet there and use an app instead? I really don't like how bulky their touchscreen looks and would rather put an Anrdoid tablet instead of their controls. But obviously, I need to make sure this works just as fast as far as sending commands to arm, disarm, panic, etc...

Thanks again in advance for any suggestions and advice you might have to offer.

Suler,

If you like you can contact me at support@universal-devices.com if you have any other questions.

Based on the material list you provided you have the required equipment to do the configuration.  The three most important parts of the ecosystem are the ELK M1 Gold, ISY with PLM and the M1XEP.  Here is a video you may find helpful that goes over the whole process from elk program to ISY integration.

You can use the Mobilinc HD or the eKeypad App to fully integrate the ISY and the ELK into one app.

You can use a cell modem connected to the ELK M1XEP to get you the central station coverage if you don't have internet or a phone line at the location.

Just for added clarification, Mobilinc HD is iPhone / iPad only - Mobilinc / Mobilinc Pro for Android does not support Elk integration.
