jsandlin Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Is this door sensor compatible with the current ISY Z-wave dongle and firmware? Are the Gen 5 devices supported are will this require a hardware upgrade.
Mike Ippolito Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 The 500 series chipset (Plus products) is backward compatible with the our current 300 series chipset. With exception of multichannel devices, which this device isn't, we have found good results with other 500 series products so this should work well. Currently the 500 series chipset offers a bit better range and a couple of new API calls, with more to come. They've introduced multi-level device types in favor of multi-channel but it is fully backwards compatible with controllers. We will work this into our next Z-Wave firmware update on our 300 series chipset so it will be compatible with multichannel/level devices soon. As always when we do move to the 500 series chipset in our Z-Wave implementation you will be able to simply upgrade the board to gain any functionality that may be released in the future.
