Unfortunately, no - Mobilinc has us all over a barrel at this point.  Not so bad if you're an iPhone user I understand, but there is little love for Mobilinc among the Android users in this community.  Android versions of the product are feature-starved in comparison to iOS versions, and by consensus seem to be lacking in stability.

There is definitely opportunity for improvement in ISY mobile integration...

......Or build something with either Tasker or iRule.

I've mostly given up on MobiLinc Android and pit together scenes on Tasker for home control via the REST api. I posted the basics on the wiki.

Roomie remote works well with the isy. If you are creative you can design good looking custom remotes. Roomie only works while on wifi, and I am not sure you could get it to control anything if you are not on your home network.

Eric, is there a good tutorial on customizing roomie remote? I gave up on it because I disliked the auto layouts. I couldn't move buttons around like I wanted. iRule is becoming to programming intensive for me so I am looking for good alternatives.

Jeff,

I do not think there is a tutorial. I add rocker buttons to some of my remotes for on and off. With roomie advances now you really just need a button and use the light status to send either on or off. I created a separate lights remote trying to copy a remote someone had posted a pic of on the avsforum. I used a button and slider like there is for the lights in the right pic above. I am having trouble with feedback for one of my lights that I have not figured put. You have to use scene numbers you pull from the admin console. I am also able to run programs from a button press. Comes in handy for the movie room, an all off button turns off my gear and then the lights on a delay.

Really just need trial and error to make a remote that looks good and is easy to use.

Thanks for the reply. I finally got customizing some stuff in roomie. I didn't realize what ask you could change from their defaults. Howeverco can't get roomie to access the isy. Roomie sees it and lets me add. But it won't download the manifested devices. Any thoughts? Username and password are set correctly.

Are you on the latest version of roomie. In the past I would not get the list of devices or scenes like I do now. You can get a scene number or device address from the admin console. If you do this is roomie controlling your devices/scenes.

I figured it out. It was my non-standard http port. Had to manually adjust parameters ask is good now.

In the latest version of roomie they have isy triggers. You can can set roomie to  watch a light  and run any roomie action when

that light is turned on to a specific brightness. This allows me to use ISY to control AV equipment, Hue lights and sonos.

Paul, can you give me a specific example of what you do. Does roomie need to be open to run the trigger. I have been using roomie for almost 2 years and have not upgraded to the roomie service yet so I do not have acces to triggers. I added the network module and have some kpl buttons set to control a TV, wdtv live, and an hdmi switch. A timer also makes sure the playroom tv is off every night.

Jeff,

I don't have a fan linc so I am not sure how to set this up. Can you create a separate scene for each fan speed, you don't need a controller. In roomie create a button for each fan speed, the action should be to set the corresponding fan speed scene you made on. Depending upon where you are putting the buttons on the custom remote you may consider using 2 toggle buttons instead.

Yes roomie needs to be running for triggers to work. I have a old iphone 5 which can be left running roomie all the time. One thing I wanted to accomplish it to turn everything on or off in the theater

room using the kpl buttons. I purchased the network module but after a few hours of trying to figure out all the codes I gave up.  With the triggers everything was working within 5 minutes.

Hi Eric,

Looks great, but how did you get the sliders to work?  I can control various scenes via on/off and brighten / dim commands but the sliders and brightness feedback displays don't work for me no matter what I put in the "Node:" field.  For what it's worth, I'm using the new Simple Control version on my ipad mini.

I'm a relative novice to both Roomie and my ISY994i but I was able to generate the topology and get the node info for all of my devices.  I'm just unable to figure out how to use that information properly with Roomie.
