April 29, 201510 yr Hi everyone, Just got my ISY today. Set up (wifi) went fine, and manually turning my lamp on / off with my Lutron plug-in switch works fine. However, when I created a program to turn the lamp on at 6pm, nothing happened. Not sure where to start as far as troubleshooting goes - any help appreciated! Thanks, Andrew
April 29, 201510 yr Hi Andrew Can you paste the program in a post here? To do that: In the admin console, find the name of the program on the list Right click on the name, and pick "copy to clipboard", at the bottom of the list Paste that in a post here Paul
April 29, 201510 yr Select the program, right click, select Copy to Clipboard and paste the program here;
April 29, 201510 yr Author Hi guys - wow, thanks for the quick reply. Was wondering how to copy/paste! Here you go: - - - - - test - [iD 0003][Parent 0001]If Time is 7:17:00PM Then Set 'Family Room Small Lamp' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Edited April 29, 201510 yr by Andrew
April 29, 201510 yr Hi Andrew Your program looks straight forward. It looks like you're using zwave and that was all set up with no problems? Is the time on your ISY set right and on the correct timezone? Those items are in the Configuration main tab on the right, under System. There are a number of items there under clock. Check those, and check back if you think that they are right or have questions. Paul
April 29, 201510 yr Author Hi Paul- Zwave working fine. Time is correct. Would having it on 24 hour format make a difference?
April 29, 201510 yr Hi Andrew- Good question, but no, 24 hour is just a way to present the time based on your preference Going back to your program, is it enabled? There will be a check box on the right side of the screen, down at the same level as "add to program" Normally programs are viewed in the Details view. There is also a Summar view tab. Can you switch to that, highlight the row with your program, press <ctrl> C to copy, and then paste it back in a post. It should look something like this: Cycle North Fan Cycle North Fan On - Running 'Then' True HVAC Tue Apr 28 09:38:34 EDT 2015 Tue Apr 28 09:32:02 EDT 2015 002F Thanks Paul
April 29, 201510 yr Author Hi guys, test test On - Idle True Tue Apr 28 22:13:28 EDT 2015 Tue Apr 28 22:13:28 EDT 2015 Wed Apr 29 19:17:00 EDT 2015 0003 Stu: Yes, it worked when I ran it that way
April 29, 201510 yr Stu, I'm not sure what's happening here. Do you have another idea, our should we suggest that Andrew open a ticket with UDI? Paul
April 29, 201510 yr Hi Andrew Sorry we could not figure this out, can you submit a ticket to http://www.universal-devices.com/contact-support Someone from UDI will get this figured out. Welcome to UDI! Paul
April 29, 201510 yr Andrew The posted Program triggers once at exactly 7:17PM. It does not run from 7:17PM If Time is 7:17:00PM
April 29, 201510 yr Andrew another thing that should be noted if you are trying to test time triggers just ahead of the current time is that the time shown in the Admin Console gets out of whack as there no synchronisation with the ISY after the initial connection and the admin console software keeps a really bad time clock on the screen. Your indicated screen time may be faster than the ISY and your test program time may not trigger due being already pa ss ed. Edited April 29, 201510 yr by larryllix
April 29, 201510 yr Author Hi everyone - I think Larry was right! To test this, I set the program to run 10 minutes after updating it/saving it (rather than the next minute) and it appears to be working now! Yay! BTW regarding 24 hour time - I prefer that, but see that the interface only lets us program by 12-hour time. Not a big deal though. Thanks! Andrew
April 29, 201510 yr Author Good morning Paul, Yeah, this is good stuff! My next challenge is getting remote functioning working. New thread for that though... cheers Andrew
April 29, 201510 yr Andrew- Part of getting used to the community is learning where the knowledge rocks are, so you can turn them over and look under them for the info Book mark this how to part of the forum on How to's. Remote access is the the fourth one down. There is also a wiki and the manuals are located in there There is a lot of info, its worth a little time to learn to navigate and find what's where. Having just joined in the summer of last year, that was one of the first things that helped me The community is glad to help too, as you've found out. Paul Edited April 29, 201510 yr by paulbates
April 29, 201510 yr Author Hi again, Yeah, this seems like a great community. Actually, that (and great pre-sales info by phone) is one of the reasons I jumped in. I did actually follow (or try to) both of those links! I was getting kinda tired, though, and may have missed something. My router is UPnP but I was getting an error. Will try again after work - if it's "no dice" and I can't find an answer, I'll start a new thread on it. Cheers- Andrew
