zerop Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) How many of you use Tasker to trigger things in your ISY? I have Tasker turn on and off our "Away" program when we come and go from the house and I have it turn on and off the "Sleep" program at night when we go to bed. What are you doing with Tasker and your ISY? Edited May 25, 2015 by zerop
larryllix Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) My last Tasker update cleaned out all my programs and I haven't had the energy to recreate them since. Going away seemed to be hardest to make reliably and responsive. I used Tasker to turn on and off my WiFi etc., but it turned out the built in Samsung algorithm saved more battery energy than Tasker did dong it less smartly than the built-in Android algorithms. There are other cooler things I want to do once I get back to it. Edited May 25, 2015 by larryllix
MWareman Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) I stopped using Mobilinc on my Nexus a while ago (due to a bug in that if I renamed a device on ISY, Mobilinc got all confused with device IDs.) Mobilinc has apparently fixed that issue now, but I took the time to implement Tasker control via the REST interface instead, and it's worked flawlessly since. I wrote it up on the wiki. I have several Tasker scenes, all triggered from a notification bar. I can pull down, click a button and see a scene representing the status of my devices. Status is updated in near-real time (pushed via Autoremote). Although the user interface is very basic, it's functionally (for me!) way better than Mobilinc ever used to be. oberkc Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I use tasker widgets in to trigger (via mobilinc) programs and scenes. I want one-button control of key devices. This includes opening of garage doors, turning the house off, guest enable, things like that. I did not want to open an app and navigate to those key devices, then choose an action. The tasker widget works great for this. In some cases (where specific action is not known ahead), I use mobilinc widgets.

Did you make them or is there an icon pack I can download from Google Play?
