scubaguyjohn Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I have five 2Gig CT100 thermostats and they are rock solid. Occasionally, I'll see a humidity variable on the ISY admin console but it's blank. After searching, it seems that these thermostats do report humidity levels but not all controllers recognize it. I believe Homeseer now does, some folks have Micase Verde have it working, but I've not seen anything on ISY. So, has anyone been able to get humidity readings with ISY994 and a 2 Gig CT100 thermostat? And, if so, how did you do it? Or does ISY need an update to accomplish this? thanks in advance, John.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Hi John, It depends on whether or not the thermostat reports humidity to ISY. Can you please right mouse click | Z-Wave | Show Node Info in Event Viewer | All and paste it here? With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Hi John, Thanks so very much. Unfortunately the device is not reporting enough information as far as alerts. We do need to get the API specs from them. Do you have a contact information at 2Gig? With kind regards, Michel
scubaguyjohn Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 sorry, I don't have a contact at 2gig ... when you say its not reporting enough information, is the unit reporting alerts that are not labeled clearly enough or is it not reporting humidity levels? From what I read in other forums, it seems to be reporting humidity but perhaps not labeled clearly. Are x20 thru x60 the alerts being reported? If so, perhaps i could write an alert email with all of those variables to see if any match humidity. John.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi John, As you can see here, humidity is not a class: - x20 V0 BASICSun 06/21/2015 15:44:55 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x81 V0 CLOCKSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x87 V0 INDICATORSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x72 V1 MANUFACTURER_SPECIFICSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x31 V2 SENSOR_MULTILEVELSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x40 V2 THERMOSTAT_MODESun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x42 V0 THERMOSTAT_OPERATING_STATESun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x44 V1 THERMOSTAT_FAN_MODESun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x45 V0 THERMOSTAT_FAN_STATESun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x43 V2 THERMOSTAT_SETPOINTSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x86 V0 VERSIONSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x70 V1 CONFIGURATIONSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x80 V0 BATTERYSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x85 V1 ASSOCIATIONSun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x60 V3 MULTI_INSTANCE So, it might be part of Multi Level sensor and for that we need the APIs. joelika Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 The CT100 is actually made by the Radio Thermostat Company. I have one as well, and I'd love to get humidity data from it. https://radiothermostat.desk.com http://www.radiothermostat.com/docs/CT100_SpecSheet_12sep14.pdf(last page has the z-wave version and chipset specs). An issue I have with the thermostat, and I don't know if it is an API issue, but when the cooling turns on or off once the cool point temp occurs, the update isn't always sent to the ISY. Usually I see the new room temperature data appear in the admin console when the cooling turns off, but it still says "cooling". If I manually query the thermostat, then it updates and says "idle". For now, I just setup a program to query every 5 minutes, but it would be nice if I didn't have to. Mine shows ASSOCIATION as well, and I have it installed with the C wire so the z-wave radio shouldn't be sleeping. On battery, the user manual specifically states it will sleep the z-wave radio. Powered via the C wire also activates the repeater mode (which I can also see in the z-wave info on a different z-wave lock that is repeating through it).
Michel Kohanim Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Hi joelika, If you get accurate information upon query, then it seems that either the thermostat is not sending alarms for cool/heat state or that it's lost. If you have good communications all the time, then I suspect it's the former. With kind regards, Michel
joelika Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Thanks Michel. I believe it's the former. Before the tstat was repeater mode, I had spotty connection to my Yale lock, which is in the next room. After I reconfigured the tstat as a repeater, I have a solid connection to the lock. So the connection to the tstat itself should also be solid (the ISY is directly below the tstat just one floor in a residential building). It's not an issue to query it, it just seems like a dirty hack Thanks!
Bill Milford Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Hi Michel, I found this document that shows how to get humidity reports: https://radiothermostat.desk.com/customer/portal/kb_article_attachments/56875/original.pdf?1434142296 Sun 06/21/2015 15:44:56 : [ZW-SHOW ] - x60 V3 MULTI_INSTANCE So, it might be part of Multi Level sensor and for that we need the APIs. With kind regards, Michel
MWareman Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The document states this: The association command class can be configured to send encapsulated reports via the Multi Instance Command Class or the Multi Channel Command Class. If the association configuration commands are sent inside encapsulated commands, the thermostat will respond with encapsulated reports of the same type (Multi Instance v1 or Multi Channel v3). Encapsulation is the only way to configure the thermostat to send humidity sensor multilevel association reports. The ISY does not support multi-channel at all (yet).
ryanmead83 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Slightly off topic but wanted to say as well that these thermostats are awesome as well. I have mine running on batteries, no C wire to my furnace for some reason, and I've had it in for about 9-10 months and it says 70% battery remains. Never had a single issue with them.
Bill Milford Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The document states this: The ISY does not support multi-channel at all (yet). Or multi instance?
MWareman Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Chris or Michel would have to confirm - but I don't think muilti-instance is even on the roadmap - or it could just be another name for the same thing.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Hi Bill, I am have not yet heard the term Multi Instance. Can you please let me know what you mean by this? With kind regards, Michel
Bill Milford Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hi, Multi instance was renamed to multi channel. Hi Bill, I am have not yet heard the term Multi Instance. Can you please let me know what you mean by this? With kind regards, Michel
Bill Milford Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I am not that familiar with z wave specifics, but it appears that in this thermostat, there are two instances of the multi level sensor. The first instance is temperature and the second is humidity. All reports except humidity are reported via instance 1 and humidity is reported via instance 2. ISY already sends an association command when adding a new device, but it does not recognize and support multi channel devices, so it only gets unsolicited reports from instance 1. The linked document says that instead of an un-encapsulated association command, in order to get unsolicited responses from instance 2, the association command must must be encapsulated.
ryanmead83 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I'm not sure why I didn't think of this when I replied before, but like I said I have this same one, used it on Vera and on Wink (as well as currently) and just realized it doesn't do humidity for me, just temperature, fan, heat, cool, etc. I've never seen humidity show up on any Z-Wave controller I've used it on.
