phlash73 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Can somebody please post what was in it? I think it was set to run at 3am, from the factory. I see "query" as an option when adding a program, but no "all" option. I dont remember what the program actually said. Also how did it initially start? And, how necessary is it? Thanks in advance
LeeG Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 The 'My Lighting' Scene name is valid for my system as it was migrated from a 99i years ago. Look at the name just below Network under the Main tab. If My Lighting the posted Program is fine. The name could be 'ISY' if the system was created in a 994i. If you have 'ISY' below Network, change 'My Lighting' to 'ISY'. ahwman Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) I'm confused as to what the purpose of this query program is? I'm about to migrate from an ISY-99 to a 994 and I see in the directions to be sure and point the query all program to point to the main scene. I've attached a screenshot of my ISY main page. I appreciate any clarification, Chuck Edited September 11, 2015 by ahwman
larryllix Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 This just sequentially queries all devices to insure that ISY's statuses are current and in sync. It is usually done in the middle of the night to avoid tying up the CPU while other activities are going on.
LeeG Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 The QueryAll Program has a "Set Scene" statement that should point to the selected item "All Devices" in the posted image. That item has been renamed from "My Lighting" on the 99i.
ahwman Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Would it make sense to run this program more often than just once/day?
larryllix Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) Would it make sense to run this program more often than just once/day? I wouldn't. I deleted mine and ran without it for several months and never noticed any incorrect statuses. ISY/Insteon is fairly accurate with it's retries etc. If you repeat it during the busy hours you may delay or miss some HA operations. Edited September 11, 2015 by larryllix
LeeG Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I agree with larryllix, no need to run multiple times a day. The Insteon network would have to be poor for there to be a need. If the Insteon network were/is that poor it would need work, not more queries.
