What's the best way to test communication across my ISY/Insteon network?

I've had my ISY/Insteon network in place for approximately 3 years with approximately 45 devices, most of which are dual band. For the most part my system works reliably, however I do occasionally see switches reporting the wrong status. What is the best way to test my ISY/Insteon network? I remember something about a hops test?
