Putting multiple devices in linking mode?

I replaced a device today. I had difficulty putting both wireless devices in linking mode at the same time: Putting the second device in linking mode always knocked the first device out of linking mode.

I finally solved it buy pressing both set buttons at the same time, and probably could have done each one at a time

Is it an insteon thing that only one device can be in linking mode at 1 time?

I got everything working, just curious at this point.

That would be a nice feature for scenes and other setups.

If you have everything laid out in front of you on the desk, there may be no point though. I was thinking ladder access to multiple devices.

Even if multi-lnking was available and you require climbing a ladder for each device, then the first would probably time out by the time you put the last into linking mode B)
