Panda88 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Hi Does the ISY support the new z-wave chip (500) in a secure setup (door lock) ? I had the 300 series chip in a door lock that worked, but I now have one with 500 and I cannot get it to work Any suggestion?
stusviews Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Often a Z-Wzve device needs to be excluded before is can be included. Which specific lock are you having difficulty with?
Panda88 Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 I did manage to include it (excluded it first) but it does not really control the lock - I can see battery level and state (but state is not following lock) - also I cannot lock/unlock it I had an earlier version using the 300 chip and it worked well The lock is a danalock (new version)
MWareman Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 That might indicate that the security negotiation failed. This could be distance related - since to enroll security enabled devices you need to be fairly close (this is a protocol limitation to protect secure devices during enrolling). How far apart was the ISY and lock while you enrolled it? Often times, a few feet is necessary. Secure enrolling cannot use repeaters, although repeaters can be used after the device is added.
MWareman Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Was it still at 3 feet when you tried to control it - or was it moved further apart? If the latter, you may need to do a heal for the zwave routing table to learn the new locations. Either that - or its possible that the ISY does not have key information to make the secure connection. You said the manufacturer is dynalock. I'm not sure which, if any, zwave locks outside of Schlage and Quikset have support in ISY. You may want to reach out to UDIs email support.
