Michaelv Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I have been having an issue with my ISY 99 ir Pro. Recently, I was not able to login after doing a firmware upgrade. I spent a long tech support session with Darrell and we came to the conclusion that I needed a new ISY. I had Smarthome overnight me one, got it reinstalled in my network, and the same thing has happened. I was able to upgrade to 2.6.8. After I restore the ISY with the back up file, I cannot find the ISY on the Network. When I telnet, it cannot find the device. The only way I can get the ISY back is to connect with Hyperterminal and do a factory reset. Then, when I do the ISY restore, I lose the device. This has happened 4 times now. I fear that you are going to tell me I have to start a fresh Config file reset all my devices, relink them. Is there any way to avoid this? I have spent DAYS setting up my lighting with over 50 Insteon devices. Very Frustrated MV
Michel Kohanim Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hello Michael, I do apologize for the inconvenience and we'll do everything possible so that you will not have to start fresh. Would you be kind enough to send us your backup (support@universa-devices.com) and we'll figure out what's causing these errors. Did you also get a new PLM with your replacement? Michaelv Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 No I did not. I will send you the file. Thanks for the quick reply. MV
Michel Kohanim Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Michael, my pleasure. In the meantime, would you be kind enough to do a test: 1. Factory reset your ISY 2. Use Add New Insteon Device 3. Choose one of your devices with the most number of links to everything else 4. Choose the 3rd option (import devices and links) If the problem is in the PLM, your ISY will hang again. Also, do you have Network Magic? With kind regards, Michel No I did not. I will send you the file. Thanks for the quick reply. MV
Michaelv Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 I started the "test" at about 5pm EST. It is still running now at 6pm. It seems to be linking with all the devices linked to the one I initially chose. Is this a normal amount of time for this? The initializing System bar keeps coming up. Is this whatt you mean by Hanging? MV
Michel Kohanim Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hi Michael, Are the RX/TX lights blinking on ISY? Is the LED blinking on the PLM?
