Lost ISY after restore

I have been having an issue with my ISY 99 ir Pro. Recently, I was not able to login after doing a firmware upgrade. I spent a long tech support session with Darrell and we came to the conclusion that I needed a new ISY. I had Smarthome overnight me one, got it reinstalled in my network, and the same thing has happened. I was able to upgrade to 2.6.8. After I restore the ISY with the back up file, I cannot find the ISY on the Network. When I telnet, it cannot find the device. The only way I can get the ISY back is to connect with Hyperterminal and do a factory reset. Then, when I do the ISY restore, I lose the device. This has happened 4 times now. I fear that you are going to tell me I have to start a fresh Config file reset all my devices, relink them. Is there any way to avoid this? I have spent DAYS setting up my lighting with over 50 Insteon devices.

Michael, my pleasure.

 

In the meantime, would you be kind enough to do a test:

1. Factory reset your ISY

2. Use Add New Insteon Device

3. Choose one of your devices with the most number of links to everything else

4. Choose the 3rd option (import devices and links)

 

If the problem is in the PLM, your ISY will hang again.

 

Also, do you have Network Magic?

Are the RX/TX lights blinking on ISY? Is the LED blinking on the PLM?
