GE 12722 randomly goes to sleep

Hello,

I have a GE 12722 that seems to randomly go to "sleep" (really no other word for it). It is sitting beside my Kwikset door lock (which works fine) and controls my outdoor lights. It is about 15ft away from my ISY with built in ZW.

Occasionally, for no apparent reason, this device will stop communicating. It is usually immediately following a command to turn on or off (which it obeys), then ceases all communication until I go and physically interact with the switch. All it takes is physically turning it on or off in order to wake it up again.

I've tried to heal the network. I've tried excluding it and re-adding it. It seems random as to when this will happen, other than the fact that it happens immediately after giving it a command. The light obeys the command, but then the status never updates on the interface. It just freezes.

Given that it is a powered device, and the nearby battery operated device works just fine, I would think I would be having problems with the door lock rather than the hardwired lightswitch.

Is there something inherant to the Z-wave protocol that could cause this behavior?

Hi Pacificwing,

I would do two tests (although difficult):

1. Unplug the load and retest

2. Move it to a bench and retest

If in both occasions above it exhibits the same issue, then the switch itself is defective.

With kind regards,

Michel
