plm serial cable replacement

Featured Replies

I've asked smarthome if they carry replacement 2412S serial cables. No reply so far. Is this a standard cable? Is there a better source?  Thanks.

An Ethernet cable will work.  I'd go with something decent quality, shorter is better...

I believe the recommendation is 36" or less. That said, I've got about about 12' of CAT 6 between my ISY and my PLM, and I've never had any trouble.

Are you looking for the DB9P to RJ45 serial cable, hidden in the PLMs box or the one from the ISY994 or ISY99ii to the PLM?

I can get you the pin outs for the DB9 to RJ45 cable.

I suspect you want the standard network cable from the serial connector on the PLM to the ISY99i's Port A.

The DB9F Serial Port B on the ISY99i. Is not normally used.

Since the 2412S supplies power through the network style serial cable. An external one should not be needed.

If you have not found the UDI wiki pages yet. They are a great source of information. Including manuals on both the ISY99i and ISY994i.
