Posted December 16, 20159 yr Howdy, I just replaced a broken ZWave thermostat I had associated with my ISY. Because it was broken, there was no way to use 'exclusion' mode to remove it. So from the admin console, I just deleted the device. After adding a new ZWave thermostat, I did a network heal and saw lines in the event log like this: Wed 12/16/2015 16:23:57 : [ZWAVE-DB ] Unexpected NULL database for uid=3 0x03 The old unit was device ZW003_1, so I assume this is what it is. I've also noticed that the old device keeps "coming back" every 5-10 minutes or so (it has batteries, so it's still "working", though sitting on my counter). How can I permanently delete a ZWave device from the ISY that I cannot use "exclude Zwave device" for? Thanks, Gerry
December 16, 20159 yr I *think* you move it to the ISY root device and then right click on it, there is a "delete zwave device" or something. I've done this a couple times when I excluded something and it... didn't quite work.
December 17, 20159 yr Hi Gerry, You need to do Z-Wave | Tools | Synchronize Node | All ... Next time, please right mouse click | remove failed node. With kind regards, Michel
December 17, 20159 yr Author Next time, please right mouse click | remove failed node. That's what I did -- I'm not aware of any other way to delete devices in the ISY admin console except the Right Click, then pick Delete. I'll kick over the synchronize nodes when I get home tonight. Thanks, Gerry
December 17, 20159 yr Hi Gerry, Remove failed node and NOT delete. Delete does not remove the node in the Z-Wave dongle for a variety of reasons. If you do Synchronize All, then ISY/Dongle will be in synch. With kind regards, Michel
December 17, 20159 yr Author Okey doke -- I thought you were saying to remove the failed node (i.e. generic description -- just delete it), but you mean the actual menu item "Remove Failed Node" which I wasn't aware of/hadn't seen before. I have now Good to know for the future! Thanks!! Gerry Edited December 17, 20159 yr by gduprey
