Help using nodelink

I ran into another issue, not sure if this is a glitch, a bug, or user error. Yesterday I added a humidity sensor (the SWE3 from Sheepwalk) to my 1-wire network, and now NodeLink doesn't see any of my 1-wire sensors. However, they show up in /mnt/1wire, and I can poll them all with owread both manually and with my scripts. I've restarted Nodelink, and my Pi, I've tried reinstalling nodes, and the ISY profile. Here's what the log is spitting out:

Is it the 26 family of sensor that's causing the problem? It looks like it's choking on the humidity value somehow. Thanks!

Parsing bug on my side, I'll fix in next version.

Can you paste the output of the humidity folder in the sensors directory on the Pi?

Meaning:

cd /mnt/1wire

cat [sensorDir]/humidity

Ever since the 0.5.10 update, my password won't stick. I enter it, click set, and it accepts it; but then if I wait a minute the console says "ISY Error: Login failure (verify ISY password on the system config page)", and then I can't get to any of the nodes. No matter how many times I enter the password, same result. I've deleted NodeLink and reinstalled it several times also, and it keeps doing the same thing. Any ideas? It does see the humidity sensor now; however.

I have occasional problems with that also but it reconnects just fine on the next poll or a few minutes later. Maybe once per couple of days.

I suspect the Ethernet port on the RPi is not that good in quality.

Dunno... nothing else has trouble connecting to the network. I'm pretty sure I'd get a lot of other errors if that was going on. It's like the nodelink config.xml file isn't being updated by the web link, but I can't confirm it since I don't know what cipher it's being run through, and the password is hashed (as it should be) in the xml file.

My ISY refuses to answer almost every morning at 4:00 AM when the Query All is taking place..

The thermostats, I expect to fail occasionally being WiFi but my ISY is completely hardwired Ethernet between them, Through a few routers and switches, mind you.

NodeLink / Rpi does seem to be extra sensitive to errors but maybe we have just never seen a report of comm errors before NodeLink.

Does the password ever resume functioning again without intervention?.

Did you try wiping the connections by un/replugging them.

Please post your log. Another user had a similar issue last week (login error). Turns out the ISY was not handling a node install correctly and was sending a "login error" as the error.

Not saying it's related but I can do nothing without the log.

This is all I get:

2016-08-05 23:44:52 - ISY NodeLink Server v0.5.10 started
2016-08-05 23:44:53 - Web config server started (http://192.168.1.46:8090)

2016-08-05 23:45:30 - ISY Error: Login failure (verify ISY password on the system config page)

2016-08-05 23:45:49 - ISY Error: Login failure (verify ISY password on the system config page)
2016-08-05 23:46:01 - ISY Error: Login failure (verify ISY password on the system config page)

The ISY Error line just repeats after that. Right before the OWFS: Sensor(s) line is where I re-enter my password, and it picks up the ISY for a moment. Then it goes right back to login failure, and if I switch web pages after that, I get the 'Not authorized - please setup valid ISY password' screen.

If I check the xml file, it's got all the correct info for IP address, user name, and the options I've selected. But the password hash doesn't change from the default.

Interesting, so you can't actually change the password?

Is this a new setup? Did you modify anything?

Can you send me your config file in a PM?

Posted

Guaranteed that's what it is.  And you can't change it because I don't let you in the Devices page.  I'll fix this in the next version.

For now, you can add the below line in the ISY Admin section of your xml (with whatever profile number you're using).

<item key="nodeprofilenumber" value="2" />
