The Amazon ISY Skill version 2 is now live since this afternoon. This change applies only to the skill (There is no change to ISY Connected Home)

The biggest change in the skill is a better support for spoken device names.

There is still a bug where you cannot have a spoken name outside of the samples provided below. However, there is now much more spoken names you can use. In addition of the device name, you can choose to add one of the predefined prefix, and also a suffix. Those are optional.

Currently I can't take advantage of any of these features and updates with this service. But have to extend my thanks to you and the entire UDI team in pushing so quickly with these new enhancements to the portal service.

Well done and bravo!

If there's more than on girl, than the correct spelling is girls' (no trailing s). The apostrophe is silent B)

I have also learned it that way. However, I was not fully sure when I did this, so I checked online. Apparently, both are acceptable. Then, I made tests with Alexa, and testing shows that 's is always added, like in "chris's bedroom"

The list was built that way so it can match what alexa is sendint to the skill.

In our ISY, where we put in the spoken words, it would make life simple for us if instead of a free text box you converted it to a prefix and device name drop-down for us to select from. This way we don't have to keep coming here to see what words and order we have to place them in for it to work. Just a sugestion.

+1

This, my friends is the long term solution as it avoids so many questions and support calls.

Izzy cannot find zone one nor zone two as a spoken thermostat name. Izzy can find zone 1 and zone 2.

Edit: still very inconsistent even using identical commands, sometimes zone 1 is recognized, sometimes not. Izzy can report the status of zone 2, but can't find zone 2 to change any setting.

Hi stusviews,

Yes indeed and Amazon is aware of these inconsistencies. The only reason we went with v2 was because they are working on fixes which might take a few weeks and recommended using three slots. Have you taken a look at the spoken word list and utterances here?
