Two Keypad Buttons to create more Scenes.

Can some one tell me how I can create a scene by holding down to Keypad buttons simultaneously ? I want to add two more scenes to a Table top controller and I have run out of buttons. I know I could get an 8 button Keypad but I thought I read in the manual that this could be done.

Thanks

Have you tried creating a program that runs when button A AND button B are switched ON? I don't know if that would work or not. One thing that does work is to create programs that set different scenes depending on whether the button is switched ON/OFF, versus FAST ON/FAST OFF, versus BRIGHTEN/DIM. I have a few buttons that trigger different programs depending on whether they are clicked, double clicked or held down.

Cheers!

Hi MV,

As to_lighter suggested, you could use a program. Or, you can convert your 6 button to 8 button KPL:

1. Take the set button out

2. Press and hold the A and H buttons ( you have to have extra buttons )

3. Press the set button in and hold it for 3 seconds

When you do this, you will have to remove the KPL from ISY and re add it.

With kind regards,

Michel

I actually have a couple 6 button keypads running in 8 button mode. It works fine...you press the side of the top and bottom buttons that you want. I have custom labels in each one that show what each side does.

There is no way to make a direct link control that allows you to hold down two buttons at once on a keypadlink that I am aware of....but putting the keypad in 8 button mode as Michel has said is a viable option. In fact, one of the places I have done this is beside my bed with a tabletop housing and 6 button keypad. The top button controls the lights, the left side is one scene at a brighter level for reading, the right side is a different scene at a dimmer level for "other" stuff. I rarely use the right side anymore!
