Posted February 24, 20169 yr I have this dimmer: http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ProductDetail.jsp?partnumber=DZMX1-1LZ§ion=66154&minisite=10251 I was expecting that turning the light on via a button push would be picked up by the isy to run a program (I want to trigger multiple lights based on this switch being thrown). I never see any notification at the isy. running 5.0.2. Am i expecting too much?? Thanks
February 24, 20169 yr I have to gather this may be related to *Instant status* not being supported in this product?
February 24, 20169 yr Except for Lutron brand, Z-Wave switches and dimmers do not report their status unless queried so they cannot be used as a trigger.
February 24, 20169 yr Leviton Vizia RF+ switches do support instant status. However, this device referenced (DZMX1) is not a member of the RF+ line. It's their lower cost line, and as such, looks like they didn't pay the patent fee to allow instant status.

March 20, 20169 yr Author So - I would really like to be able to hit this one switch and have it trigger a program on the ISY - so I ponied up for one of these: http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ProductDetail.jsp?partnumber=VRI06-1LZ§ion=44140 Which is a "scene capable" vizia RF+ product. I installed it, and the wrote a program that triggers on "Control(Old) ZW038 is switched on" then do a bunch of things, and....nothing. I do see these type of events in the event viewer, but i have no idea what they mean. Is the program line i am using correct?Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW038_1] [0108000400260282]...Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ZW038_1] [010A001326038613]...Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ] [0104011301E8]Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ] [010500133600DF]Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:43 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:48 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ZW038_1] [0109001326022602]...Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:48 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:48 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ] [0104011301E8]Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:48 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ACKSun 03/20/2016 01:49:49 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW038_1] [0109000400260326]...Sun 03/20/2016 01:49:49 PM : [ZWAVE-TX ] ACK Thanks for any pointers.
March 20, 20169 yr The Instant Status is reported 5 secs after the switch is pressed. I have a Leviton RF+ switch (VRS15-1LZ On/Off) and see the Instant Status reporting 5 secs after the paddle press which was not instant enough for me so it got relegated to a rarely used location. I can confirm that the ON and OFF is reported and correctly recognized 5 secs after the paddle press. I am using 5.0.3. All my other switches are GE/Jasco switches which associate with the ISY and report immediate status to the ISY. I do believe they have to be in direct range of the ISY though and not rely on hopping. Edited March 20, 20169 yr by andyf0
March 21, 20169 yr Author Thanks Andy. Curious - does your leviton show up in the ISY AC as a "Scene switch"? IS "Control(old) is switched On" The logic you use for programs?
March 21, 20169 yr Yes, it shows up as "On/Off Scene Switch". I don't have any programs detecting the switch being pressed. It's been relegated to an outside light. It's programmed to come on/off at sunset/sunrise. In 5.0.3 the Admin Console is pretty much unusable now as it doesn't read all the programs in and programs that call missing programs are shown in error. I don't want to mess with it until a new version is released.
March 23, 20169 yr Except for Lutron brand, Z-Wave switches and dimmers do not report their status unless queried so they cannot be used as a trigger. Scene switches (when ISY 5.03 will be working with multi-channel) will properly trigger scenes and therefore do what non-Lutron switches can not do ?
