Zwave thermostats and getting it to work together

Featured Replies

I have three Trane Zwave enabled thermostats that I use with my ISY994i/ZW

I am very happy with it.  I have noticed that when i am in the ISY Administrative Console and I am looking at the a thermostat I have a query button that queries information from the thermostat.   As an example, if my wife changes the heat setpoint on the thermostat directly, I can use the query button and it would show the new heat setpoint.

I was looking and wondering if there is a way to use this function programmatically.  What I am trying to do is when we are gone for multiple days  and we want to set a hold on all thermostats at a lower temp, can I set that on the thermostat and if there is a hold then not run the normal ISY schedule.

Or is there a way that I can program a hold function on ISY that my wife can easily set?  Has anybody else considered doing something like that that?

Thanks

Hi leonpc,

It should already be automatic. Please change the set point on the thermostat and look at the Admin Console and see whether or not it gets updated accordingly. If not, please do let me know the brand/model number.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michel I checked and yes it is automatic.

Now I just need to figure out how to read the hold status and set that up.

Thanks for your response.
