GoControl 2GIG Linear WADWAZ-1 External Switch Help

Hello All,

 

I am having trouble getting the external switch on what is a repackaged WADWAZ-1 from the home depot Go control 2GIG kit working. Does any one have experience with this Z-wave device and the external switch? I am pretty green when it comes to trouble shooting anything z-wave/ISY related but I would not mind learning some thing new! 

 

My end goal would be to attach it to the IP Camera's I/O (DCS 5222L) and have the IP Cam trigger the WADWAZ and then some actions in ISY.

 

So, IP Cam excluded, my basic trouble shooting says I should be able to wire the 2 pin terminal block for the external switch together and get something in ISY, but I got nothing toggling this connection. Thought it would be the Binary Sensor Status but it never moved from Off state. I feel like I'm way over my head here, never having to go past including a z-wave sensor into the network.

 

 

This is my first post, I hope I have included enough details. There is almost no technical details on the WADWAZ external switch and the DI/DO specs on the IP cam would be helpful if I new how to read electrical diagrams.

My WADWAZ-1 show up as three sensors. First as a Binary Sensor, which is the built in reed contact, then also as an Intrusion Alarm, which is the external contacts, and finally as a Tamper Alarm, which is the internal case tamper switch. You'll need to trigger off of the Intrusion Alarm for the external contacts. If it doesn't show up, you may need to synchronize the device in ISY.

Okay, so I tried to wire up the switch from the camera to the WADWAZ and watch the Intrusion Alarm, see the diagram below. As the diode i placed an LED to confirm i was NC and triggering an event with motion detection. No matter the configuration of the wiring leads just couldn't get the Intrusion alarm to change from on to off. I guess my next step is to get a reed switch and see if that will trigger it?

Was there any success with this? I am unable to get any events registered to the ISY with the external switch but I can see some ZWAVE-RX when the external switch is closed.
