bobchap
ISY versions 4.3.26 & 5.0.4 -- Conventional wisdom says only one ISY should control any given device. Can the other ISY, however, successfully monitor such a "shared" device (e.g., checking on/off status)? Is there any danger of links getting confused? Thanks in advance, bobchap Link to comment
LeeG
Adding deviceA to ISY 1 and deviceB to ISY 2 is fine. I run multiple ISYs with that arrangement. The issue is adding deviceA to ISY 1 and ISY 2. There is no 'monitor only' mode in Insteon. Both ISYs will consider the device as owned. Things like ISY 1 having links in deviceA to the ISY 2 PLM is the first challenge. I have not tried that configuration but keeping accurate backups of both ISYs that are in sync will be difficult. I don't think the configuration is practical even if possible. Link to comment
bobchap
I hadn't thought specifically about backup, but restore device could be a problem. Don't think I'll try it. Thanks. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk Link to comment
