HomeautoGuy Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I have had nothing but problems with my Ring Doorbell Pro.
elvisimprsntr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Brought to you by the same inept people who produced the Doorbot. It was a hopelessly flawed product which I immediately returned for a full refund. So they shuttered the company to shed themselves of product liability and negative reputation, and start a new company called Ring. http://techcrunch.com/2014/09/29/doorbot-ring-home-security-doorbell/

Teken Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 The people who bought this product deserve what they get. To think high level thinking individuals believe linking their home to some third party cloud hosted service is a good thing? Stupid is - Is stupid does . . .

To think high level thinking individuals believe linking their home to some third party cloud hosted service is a good thing? Stupid is - Is stupid does . . . Sold as a high-tech security item! Now doesn't the "cloud" suggest a higher power than you can get with down-to-earth straight hardware? More "dreamware" You paint an imaginative picture for the people and they dream al the things it "might" do in their heads. Definitely works. Now there is the sign I want for my front lawn and window stickers! Protected by Cloud Services!

In the big picture I'm not anti-cloud if its done correctly with proper consideration for security and privacy. What I am completely against is the reliance on a local product / service that is dependent on said cloud.
