diggler
Have a outletlinc that i use in my kids room. Its on a time program. In isy it shows on but outlet is off and sometime the only way to turn it on is manually. Isy wont turn it on, it will just show that it is on. Any ideas? LeeG
Is the OutletLinc being managed with a Scene or a Direct command? Could be a comm issue, particularly if using a Scene. If using a Scene try a Direct command. Could also be a defective OutletLinc. Run the Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Turn the OutletLinc On and Off with a Direct command and post the trace. Link to comment
paulbates
Are there electronics like a TV or phone chargers plugged into the outletlinc? If you are using the outletlinc to control electronics, you'll most likely need a filterlinc plugged in between the outlet and devices. I've found outletlincs to be more sensitive to noise from loads than other insteon devices. A way to validate this theory is to unplug the load from the outletlinc and then retry the program / ISY control. Paul Link to comment
diggler
Only a led night light, never had a issue. Started a couple months ago. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk Link to comment
paulbates
As Lee pointed out, it could be line noise closer to the outletlinc, or something wrong with the outletlinc iteslf You could try a factory reset, followed by a restore device. If that doesn't fix it, try the event trace. Paul Link to comment
MWoods329
Funny you should mention that. I noticed the same thing as of about a month ago and came here looking for answers. I did several factory resets, restore, etc. I think it started on 4.4.6 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
diggler
I think it did happen after upgrade. But out of 3 i have only 1 has issues Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk Link to comment
LeeG
MWoods329 It is very unlikely the symptom is caused by 4.4.6. If you can detail what the current symptom is and what has been done so far I'd be happy to offer assistance. Link to comment

diggler
In the room there is a ceiling fan light, which was off. A tv and dvd player both plugged in and off. Plugged into outletlinc is a led night light. Thats it for the room and that circuit Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk Link to comment
LeeG
Unfortunately devices like a TV and DVD have electronics that are powered even when devices are Off. Both TV an DVD respond to IR signals to turn the devices On. Need to unplug devices to eliminate them as sources of interference. Also the circuit that provides power to OutletLinc is likely powering other devices in other rooms. Link to comment
diggler
Its not, i rewired the house and each room is on it's own circuit. I will disconnect the tv n dvd player. Never had this issue a few months ago. Been installed in the room for about 3 years Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk Link to comment
LeeG
Unfortunately working few months ago does not insure things will work forever in the future without a problem. Could be issue with OutletLinc itself, some other source of interference, and so on. Link to comment
stusviews
Also ensure that nothing is powered by that circuit, not even the night light. If the ceiling light is powered from an Insteon device, then pull out the set button until it clicks in place (i.e, stays out). Link to comment
diggler
The light is old fashin decor switch. Outletlinc only controls night light. It used to control foscam camera as baby moitor. I was thinking the outlet is in its way out. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk Link to comment

stusviews
That's a power line only device which suggests something on that circuit is interfering with communication. You need to unplug or disconnect everything else on that circuit including anything plugged into that outlet. Turning something off isn't adequate. Link to comment

Plugged them into a extension cord and plugged back in and seams to be working gd lol Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk It should be noted that many if not all electronics over time will start to become a noise maker / signal sucker. The sad fact is we no longer live in the good old 50 - 80's where companies made things to last and were based on quality components and at the time sound engineering. So the reality is (IF) you ever find a product that is made solid and offers you more than 5 years of service. Keep buying and supporting these companies because they haven't forgotten how things should be made. NOTE: People should never confuse a product being made in China as the final indicator of over all quality and lifespan. Quality is dictated by the company who is trying to meet a defined out the door price point and profit margin. One only has to look at (generally speaking) Apple product . . . They are some of the best in class built, designed, and made hardware on the planet. Yet they are also one of the most bloated priced items known to man which cater to people who believe there is true value in the product. Tens of thousands of quality products are made in China every day. The only reason they are is because the company has decided to use the highest quality components, design, and hardware in hopes of the quality will reflect better on their name brand.
