Using variable in spoken name

Recommended Posts

Not sure if I'm headed down the right path, but I'm trying to use a variable in the spoken property.

I have my Echo sending commands to the ISY that relays to the Global Cache which sends IR to the TV.

I'd like to be able to say "Echo turn on volume down {v}" where v = the number of times the volume down command repeats.

I'm very new to the spoken property and not sure if this is even possible.  Anyone tried it before?

I don't think the Echo API allows this.

You could try creating the multiple programs though with these spokens...

"volume down 1"

"volume down 2"

"volume down 3"

"volume down 4"

....etc

I don't know if it would work though...
