brkuhl Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 My ISY has been working great with the Echo. Today it stopped working and when I to use it that it is not connected to the internet. I went into the Admin Module it is telling me that that internet access is disabled. When I try enabling it, I get the message of "Failed Enabling Internet Access". My ISY does have a static IP address. I've tried to revoke access so I can set it up again in Admin and I get a message of "Bad Request". Another thing I tried was to telnet into it to and enable internet access - didn't work. What am I missing to get it working again? Or is it possible I have faulty hardware?
steve9f Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I have the same issue. Looks like the Alexa app changed at some point as you can no longer specify ISY as a smart device and point everyone to skills for cloud services. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Similar difficulty. I had Alexa forget all devices (not all ISY) and then discover devices. All is well.
steve9f Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Discovered I had two issues. The first is that the portal lost communication with my ISY. Found this issue reported earlier in the month on another thread. I resolved it by rebooting the ISY. The second issues which I don't believe was preventing the Echo from working is that UD has moved to the v2 of the Alexa skill. I updated to the new skill per the directions here http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Amazon_Echo_Integration#Instructions_for_Migrating_from_V1_to_V2 which went smoothly and everything is working again.
NJITman Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Just purchased a 994i and set it up on our network. Assigned it a static IP via our router (eero). I added the UUID to our portal account, but it says the ISY is offline. When I go to the admin console, Help/About, I see our URL is http://192.168.7.198 which is the IP I assigned. No port number is shown. I did include port 443 for port forwarding for that IP reservation, per other comments I read about enabling Internet access. When I go to File, Enable Internet Access, I get an error - failed enabling. When I go to the portal, it says it is offline. Pretty adept at networking, must be missing something simple.
MWareman Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 When I go to File, Enable Internet Access, I get an error - failed enabling. The misnamed menu option strikes again. Think of this option as 'Atomically configure port forwarding (only works if your router supports upnp)'. Most routers have upnp disabled by default (if they support it at all), so this almost always fails these days.
stusviews Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 File, Enable Internet access is unnecessary and is sometimes risky. That the portal is offline does matter, though. Select Configuration, Portals. Does that show that the portal is installed. Online and Registered?
