Arm Stay vs Arm Stay Instant (API related)

What is the difference?  When arming either of these modes via the API I still notice the exit timer before the system is armed?  Maybe its just the system I am testing on, I just want to know.

I believe the exit timer will always run but the "instant" modes mean there is no entry timer. So a door opening will immediately set off the alarm without the 30 second delay or whatever delay is programmed.

This...

We only 'Arm Night Instant' overnight, so a breach at any entry point (including my garage door) will immediately trigger the alarm with no entry delay.

When I leave the house in the morning, I 'Arm Stay' (rather than 'Arm Stay Instant') because my Wife is still home, and if/when I return I'll want an entry delay if she hasn't already disarmed it...

Before bed, but after visitors, we 'Arm Stay Instant'. Again, if someone forces their way in, instant siren (and monitor service alert).

I never 'Arm Night'... No point for the way we operate at home. Others operate in different ways...

Exactly. I used only Night Instant and Away. Nite instant allows the interior doors and motions to be deactivated while making glass breaks, exterior motions and doors instant alarm.

Arm away self explanatory everyone knows how it works.

And as confirmed there is a timer for all modes just instant skips the delay. Not sure why Elk still shows the countdown.

Unless your glass breaks are entry/exit zones, they will instantly trigger even if you armed in a non-instant mode - as long as they are configured as perimeter zones.

I agree on the arm countdown. Dosnt make sense in the Night or Stay arm modes... instant or not...
