Writing to motion sensor on every change?

Featured Replies

Posted

I added an insteon motion sensor a few days ago and now when I make any changes (adding a different device to a scene) the controller acts like it is writing to that sensor - none of the changes i am making are related to it at all. It takes 2-3 times longer to run through all of the progress bars.

It takes about two full minutes to add a switch to an existing scene with two other switches.

Any ideas?

Why do you suspect that the sensor is involved? Does the red LED on the MS light up when you make changes? Remove the battery from the MS (the ISY will report that it can't communicate with the MS, ignore that). Make some changes. Are the change faster?

If your MS is included in the scenes you are modifying, ISY will attempt to be write to your MS, every change, inorder to change the link information.

When it is writing the icons next to the sensor it says, "writing".

No, that is the confusing part - the sensors are not in any scene at the moment.

Here  is a video of the screen - you can't see the progress bar or the selection of the scene, but that is happening in another window that wasn't captured.

You have unwritten data for the sensor. Either let the date be written to the sensor or turn off writing data to wireless devices.

It will stop linking in about two minutes

I think that was it.  is there a way to take the MS out of linking mode or do i just have to wait?

A single tap will take the MS out of linking (or unlinking) mode.
