TheWabit
I have looked for a solution but cant find one. Brand new to the Alexa world. Setup the Portal - added one device. Alexa says she cant find any devices. I followed the instruction explicitely EXCEPT I cant find ""connected home" in Alexa page under "Setting" But I see the ISY AND the device add added in the Portal. What am I missing? BTW - I added a Scene - not a device Edited December 7, 2016 by TheWabit Quote Link to comment
TheWabit
Disregard - I found it. I didn't have the ISY selected in "preferred" ISY box in the portal Quote Link to comment
jj893
i seem to having a discovery problem as well. I just installed some additional LampLinc modules and the ISY sees the devices and I and I can control the devices form the ISY,but when I go the the echo and have it discover devices it never sees the two new modules. Before discovering devices on the Echo side, use the ISY portal to select and publish the devices and scenes individually, so the that they can be discovered. If you added them, hit the refresh botton on the top to make sure they are published for the Echo to discover. Paul Quote Link to comment
o2bnme
Ok, I feel like an idiot on this one. I feel like I should be able to figure this out. I have purchased the ISY Portal. Added my UUID for the ISY I'm interested in controlling. Then I went into the Echo section of ISY Portal and found a lamplinc I wanted to connect for my initial test. I found it and called it "living room light." Then I hit the Refresh button on the portal page. From the Echo app, I've enabled the ISY app and done my discovery. The only thing on my list are the Nests I have enabled via the Nest app. Any suggestions? What am I missing? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
stusviews
Did you add the ISY skill? Quote Link to comment
o2bnme
Did you add the ISY skill? Yes. I had the "ISY Optimized for Smart Home V2" skill set up. I just figured it out. I did not have a "spoken" names set up on a different tab. I have that set now and things are working. Also, I noticed that my user was still set with an ISY ID that no longer exists in the system. So, I copy/pasted the correct on into place there. That must have been the first part of my issue. Quote Link to comment
jimsander
i must have some config issue like also, but also the issue of Alexa devices not finding my published devices/programs. Pretty sure it will come down to an account/subaccount broken association on the isy.io config side.. But.. initially, in ISY - I created my account under my isy email addresss (different from my amazon email) and added ... after discovery issues, and seeing the My Profile not showing a linked Amazon Account - I then revoked the portal registration (admin console -> configuration -> Portals tab) and re-added the device to the ISY.IO portal but this time with the amazon user account After linking via the echo.amazon.com portal, I still see no "Amazon account linked to" value in "My Profile" for the amazon user profile.. yet, the ISY objects are populated in the device list. I figured port forwarding of the http/https ports might be an issue, so tried toggling those off/on, no difference in discovery by amazon echo. Would be fun to use this module. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw0M_W3SMHLMNkxrRVhmQXZLRzg/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw0M_W3SMHLMbHMxZUYwNTVNdjg/view?usp=sharing Edited June 14, 2017 by jimsander Quote Link to comment
