juniorx Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I use an ISY-994i/IR-PRO and 2431S Powerlinc modules for my devices. PLM died and I bought a replacement. The first replacement was faulty and the seller provided a new one that *mostly* works. I followed the Restore Modem and Restore Devices link, as suggested in other posts. Everything appeared to recover correctly (no "1011" green tags on devices). The primary issue I have is that "scenes" do not control the lights correctly. My 8 button switches have buttons tied to a scene (example is "Outside lights") and the button still controls all outside lights. However, the ISY can not control all of the lights in the scene. I can "querry" and "turn on" lights, but the individual lights do no responde. Running a tools->diagnostic->scene tests responds with: Sun 01/22/2017 19:39:45 : [GRP-RX ] 02 61 15 13 00 15 <html><font color="red">----- OutsideLights Test Results -----</font></html> <html><font color="red">[Failed]</font> LT_ExtFrontDoor (23 FC 5B 1)</html> <html><font color="red">[Failed]</font> LT_InsideGarage (24 4 37 1)</html> <html><font color="red">[Failed]</font> LT_ExtGarage (24 5 54 1)</html> <html><font color="red">[Failed]</font> SW8_BR_MB - H (24 FD CE </html> <html><font color="red">[Failed]</font> SW8_KitKneeWall - H (25 0 F1 </html> <html><font color="red">----- OutsideLights Test Results -----</font></html> Sun 01/22/2017 19:39:54 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 14 E0 C0 0F 0D 00 Sun 01/22/2017 19:39:54 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 14.E0.C0 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:03 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 14 E0 C0 0F 0D 00 Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:03 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 14.E0.C0 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:07 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 21 C7 80 0F 0D 00 Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:07 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 21.C7.80 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:16 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 21 C7 80 0F 0D 00 Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:16 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 21.C7.80 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:25 : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 21 C7 80 0F 0D 00 Sun 01/22/2017 19:40:25 : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 21.C7.80 0F 0D 00 06 (00) From the ISY admin interface, I can turn on "Outside lights", but switches do not respond, even though ISY shows lights as "ON". I have tried moving my PLM and ISY to different outlets around the house with the same results. All of the scenes and devices worked for ~3 years prior to the first PLM dieing. Any debug suggestions?
juniorx Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 FYI, as per http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/20275-replaced-plm-now-having-communication-issues/, I did right click on the modules with issues and then click on restore device.
sdynak Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) I'm sure others more knowledgable will chime in but just to confirm you did not delete the PLM at any time correct? Do you have a saved backup prior to issues you had with the PLM and before changing? Did you check event viewer level 3 when performing the actions at the switches that are not working? How many switches are doing this and is it only the 8 buttons? Edited January 23, 2017 by sdynak
Michel Kohanim Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Hi junior, sdynak is 100% correct. I suspect that either File | Delete Modem was issued OR you restored a dead PLM. Hopefully you have a very good backup from before all of this. And, if you do, you can definitely recover by: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:File_Menu#Restore_Devices With kind regards, Michel

I now reverted to an old-old back up and the scenes now work. I am only out my recent updates. Thank you all for the help.
