ever0095
I noted an earlier question on Somfy that helped me along, but I am running into a wall on programming my ZRTSI controller. Any help would be appreciated: I have 7 Somfy shades in one room, a ZRTSI controller, and a Somfy 5 channel remote. Can I use a 5 channel remote to program 7 shades into the ZRTSI? Do I need the 16 channel remote instead? How would I create groups (bottom 3 shades paired, all shades paired, etc)? Is there a video or manual that explains this? ZRTSI instructions (https://www.somfysystems.com/file.cfm/Zwave_to_RTS_instructions.pdf?contentID=284866) don't seem to cover this scenario. Thanks in advance. stusviews
You can add as many Somfy motors to each channel as you want. All motors added to the same channel will operate concurrently. How is the Tellis currently programmed? Do you have any motors programmed to the ZRTSI?
MikeD
I believe I understand RTS programing but don't want to give you incorrect information so Stu please correct me if I wrong. The Telis 4 RTS will allow you to program up to 5 different actions. You only need the Telis 16 RTS if you want to control each of your 7 shades individually since that is 7 different actions. My first two Somfy motors came with a Telis 1 RTS, the one channel remote. They were already setup as a group since my blinds were on adjacent windows and I wanted both motors to operate together. I assigned these blinds to channel 1 of the ZRTSI using the Telis 1 RTS that came with the blinds. I then ordered 3 more blinds with Somfy motors. I purchased a Telis 4 RTS and setup the 3 blinds, one at a time, using this new remote. I only used the first channel on the Telis 4 RTS since I wanted the blinds to operate as a group. Then I assigned these (3)blinds to channel 2 of the ZRTSI using the Telis 4 RTS that I purchased. (Telis 4 RTS channel 1 assigned to ZRTSI channel 2) One thing to note is channel 1 on the Telis 4 RTS does not control my first set of blinds that were paired with the original Telis 1 RTS. If I wanted the Telis 4 RTS remote to control my two other blinds I would have to pair them first. (on a new Telis 4 RTS channel so as to not affect the others.) Right now I am using only two channels of the ZRTSI. The ZRTSI's channel 1 has two blinds in a group and channel 2 has three blinds in a group. If I wished to control all 5 of my blinds together, or a single blind alone, I would have to use a new channel on the Telis 4 RTS and the next channel of the ZRTSI. Turns out The Telis 1 RTS was a waste of funds since I could have done what I wanted to do with the Telsi 4 RTS. Hope this explanation makes sense and everything is accurate. Stu please chime in if anything is incorrect. ~Mike
stusviews
Great write-up whit one minor correction: If I wanted the Telis 4 RTS remote to control my two other blinds I would have to pair them first. (on a new Telis 4 RTS channel so as to not affect the others.) You do not need a third remote to add motors that are already programed on a different remote. 1. On the remote that's already programmed (select the programmed channel if there's more than one), press and hold the programming button until the shade jogs. 2. On the new remote (select the channel you want assigned if there's more than one), press and hold the programming button until the shade jogs. Voila! The program on the original remote has been copied to the new remote.
asbril
I am installing the Somfy ZRTSI at my Son's home. Will the Somfy ZRTSI work with 4.6.2 or do I need 5.X ?
DonM
I use 4.x.x with the ZRTS. The ZRTS is configured into ISY as a series of individual devices.
MikeD
Yes, I have the ZRTSI running with v4.5.4.

Thanks to your, MikeD's and Stu's guidance, I successfully installed the ZRTS at my Son's home. Is there any way to make the blind open/close half way ? The device included in the ISY with 3 nodes, one of which shows a percentage (either 100 or 0 %). One would think that there is a way to set it to 50 %...... stusviews
As I've already indicated, Somfy Z-Wave requires a separate Somfy Z-Wave controller which has a Stop command. The ISY Z-Wave controller doesn't have that ability. Full control can also be achieved using Somfy RTS (nor ZRTS), an Autelis interface, a Somfy Universal RTS Interface and the ISY network module. That's what I'm using now to control 14 Somfy motors. Actually, 2 Autellis interfaces which allows controlling various groups of window coverings to multiple presets. Correction: one Autelis and two Somfy URTS Interfaces.

There is a way to set the open and closed limits using the Telis 1 RTS controller. I set the open limit on the blinds to have them open half way. The blinds will open to the half way position when the open command is sent from the ISY, and fully close when I send close.

Of course, but the challenge is to use ISY to open/close the blinds at desired levels.
