Raoul Duke Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I have 3 Non-Alarm zones in my current setup. They are used for gates on an exterior perimeter fence. They are used for notifications, etc. but don't need them to trigger alarms. It would be great if there was some way to see the status of each in the Zone screen of the App. I'm relatively new to all of this, and learning as I go. If there's a better way to configure what I need, I'm all ears. Great app, btw. Thanks.

Those zone types were intentionally hidden do to requests earlier in the ELK development. I will have to defer to other Elk users in the forums to get an opinion on this.
MWareman Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I use non-alarm zones for things like water sensors and my backup sump alarm. It would be useful to me to see them in app. Edit: I will add that I currently work around this with the zone setting a variable to 1 or 0 (via a program that triggers on the zone) and then view the variable in the app... May be useful to the OP.
James Peterson Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 If I am not mistaken, Agave should still show the non-alarm zones if they are in a state that not normal. Could anyone verify this?

Assuming I'm understanding your question, I only see alarm-type zones, regardless of status. (Burglar Entry/Exit, Burg. Interior, Burg. Interior Follower, etc.)
elvisimprsntr Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Non alarms zones are visible in the ISY, and third party apps like MobiLinc and eKeypad. Which app are you using? EDIT: Agave, there is the problem.

EDIT: Agave, there is the problem. Can you confirm that Agave does not show "non-alarm" zones when they are in a status that is not normal. It was requested that all "non-alarm" zones were to be hidden unless they were in an abnormal state. If this is not how the majority wants it, I can change it. But as far as I can tell, Agave is performing as it should. If I am not mistaken, Agave should still show the non-alarm zones if they are in a state that is not normal. Could anyone verify this?

If the user wants to hide a zone, that is where it should be done. Not in a third party device/app.

G W Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 James, Agave is working fine. If you do anything, make it a setting to hide zone if status is zero.

I don't use MobiLinc or eKeypad. So far, Agave is the only third party app I use or plan to use. I don't use Agave. If I'm not mistaken there's is an option to hide a zone in the Elk. If the user wants to hide a zone, that is where it should be done. Not in a third party device/app. Elk allows for numerous zone type/option configurations, but I'm not aware of anything like "hide." You are correct that the correct configuration of a particular zone is very important, and this should be/can only be done in the Elk. I think the issue here is that Agave is currently set to not show non-alarm and perhaps other zone types. Depending on what other zone types Agave doesn't display, it's quite possible there will be users who want to see these and others who don't. Seems like the best place to configure what the app displays is in the app itself. James, Agave is working fine. If you do anything, make it a setting to hide zone if status is zero. Seems logical.

Frankly, I don't follow the use case for only wanting to see a Zone status only when it is violated, but then I don't use Agave so I don't know what the programmers/users intent are. How about assigning the Zone you don't want to display to a second Area, then leave the Area name blank?
