Posted February 21, 20178 yr Almost three years ago I was involved in a discussion to find a way for Schlage FE599 to be unlocked programmatically and persist in that state. See this:http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/11728-schlage-locks/?p=107910 Pertinent part of post occurred on May 1 to June 1, 2014 Basically, a hard unlock is simply one where if a program (or Mobilinc) unlocks the lock, it stays that way until relocked by some other means. At the time it sounded like UDI was working on it and would have it included in one build or another imminently. I'm wondering if there is an update on this as it still doesn't work and I'd still like it to, and I can't find reference to it in the forums. Thanks. Jeff Edited February 21, 20178 yr by jeffpdavis1
February 21, 20178 yr I'm pretty sure this is something programmed into the lock to behave this way. Aside from the ISY sending constant unlock commands I don't see any way to work around this. Maybe another manufacturer's locks that don't have a deadbolt behave differently? Edited February 21, 20178 yr by andyf0
February 21, 20178 yr For security reasons Schlage locks (and probably others) cannot persist in the unlocked state when remotely controlled. It's a feature of the lock that cannot be changed.
June 23, 20178 yr Sorry to bring up an old post, but this is a feature I've been missing also since including the lock on the ISY. I don't believe that this is a limitation of the lock itself as I recently had my FE599 Lever included in Home-Assistant with openzwave (Aeotec Z-Stick) and a "Hard unlock" was definitely possible; when you unlocked the door from Home-Assistant it would stay unlocked until you told it otherwise. I believe you can turn off the auto-lock feature (Parameter 15 if the BE469 docs cross over to the fe599), but with openzwave I could keep it unlocked and still use the auto-lock when a code was entered on the keypad. I wish I could find some definitive documentation for this particular model, but that's proving to be an effort in futility.
