Assuming that there are no programs involved, and no scenes, and no spurious signals from other gadgets in the house, and that the load is compatible and that it is wired correctly, yes, it is possible that the switch is failing. No programs, yes to scene. New gadget Alexa (Alexa turn on dinning table). Load correct and wired perfectly.
