joefly Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 how does the venstar onboard programming work with isy programming? I have a venstar insteon thermostat with isy99i. Since many of the onboard programming is repeatable using ISY. I am wondering if it is best to leave the thermostat in manual mode and program the activities only through isy? What leads me to this question is: Assume that I already programmed the stat with auto program mode. When I command the stat through isy for example, set new setpoint temperature. Does this affect all the setpoints on the thermostat for all periods of the auto program mode or only the period that the period is active at that momment and when the next period kicks in on the stat, it gets set to the onboard setpoint? Similarly, if the stat is on auto program mode, and through ISY I set it to heat mode with a setpoint of 70. Is the stat taken to heat mode indefinately until, either through ISY or onboard that I tell it to go back to Program mode? Thanks
MikeB Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The thermostat should be in manual mode for the ISY to control it. Personally, I don't use the thermostat's automatic modes at all (unless I want to disable ISY control). Please see the following link to see what I'm doing with my office thermostat - maybe it will give you some ideas: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... thermostat
