Keypadlink and ISY scene issue / conflict not making sense

I am sorry if this has been addressed before but have been searching the forums and following the advice all day but cannot get my Away / Night scenes working properly.

All my lighting switches are Insteon Dimmers. I have just purchased an Insteon Keypadlink 6 button dimmer to set up some scenes.  The top and bottom buttons I am just using to operate some lights via 3 way switch with another Insteon dimmer.  The A and B buttons I have set up as "All On / Off" (switches all lights on and off - TOGGLE ON / OFF) and "Kitchen Dining" (switches kitchen Dining lights on and off - TOGGLE ON / OFF).  This all works fine.

The C and D buttons I want to use as Away and Night scenes.  The following applies to what I am doing for the Away scene but should be the same for Night as I basically want to turn some lights on and others off.

In the ISY admin console, I set up a scene "Away".  I add the button C of the Keypadlink as the controller for the scene (and change to NON TOGGLE ON but I've also tried this with TOGGLE ON / OFF and same results).  I add the lights that I want to turn on when I am away as responders - I set the "On Level" to 100 and "Ramp Rate" to 0.5s.  I then add the lights I want turned off when I am away as rersponders -  I set the "On Level" to 0 for these lights.

I test the scene in the ISY admin controller and on my ipad (activating the Away scene button via MobiLinc HD) - works fine, lights come on and go off.  I press button C on the Keypadlink and the lights I want come on (I can watch the button turning on on my iPad via MobiLink HD), but no lights go off - arghhhhhh!!!!

I am at a a loss - seems this is basic functionality for setting up  a scene and activating via a keypadlink button, what am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice / help.

You have to select the C button inside the scene and adjust the responder levels. The scene itself has responder levels, and each controller in the scene can have different responder levels. There is also a button to copy levels from the scene when you have a controller in that scene selected.

FWIW, I've come to the conclusion that KeypadLincs aren't worth using. In my experience they have a high rate of failure, especially if they are located in a multi gang box. With the advent of the ISY portal, I finally ditched my last two and use Alexa instead.

I'm different. Keypads are my favorite device. I can set different moods from a single switch, status at a glance, etc. I've had the complete opposite experience as I've never had a failure with any of mine.

My KPLs have been in 3- and 4-gang boxes for years with nary a glitch. Just make sure to de-rate them if they're next to another Insteon device.

Can you explain what you mean by "de-rate them"? I'm not familiar with that term.

Insteon wall switches have a stated load capacity. That should be reduced by 100 watts if the device is installed adjacent to another Insteon wall switch. (watts = amperage times voltage). In most instances, there's no problem. The situation arises only when the actual load approaches the stated capacity.
